Though it may be hard to part with those long, lazy summer days, the Fall season issues in its own sense of excitement and anticipation. It’s not hard to fall in love with the season in Southern Georgian Bay and Grey Bruce as the fields brim with harvest bounty, the woodlands burst with auburns, rusts and ochres, and the low Autumn sun reflects off the Bay. You can almost smell those sweet, crisp apples on the breeze! Our region provides no shortage of Fall activities to create meaningful moments, from farmer’s markets to pumpkin patches, from fall fairs to apple picking; not to mention, a plethora of local breweries and wineries to explore.

Every quarter we look forward to a new issue of GG Magazine and just last week The Mindfulness Issue landed in our shops! We agree, that the meaning of the term mindfulness sometimes seems elusive, perhaps evoking emptying your mind, mediation practices or chanting mantras. However, GG Editor Michaela Cordes shares that the term mindfulness can really be understood as a "conscious awareness of the moment, of ourselves, of the world around us - in a nonjudgemental way." As schedules once again fill up with school, work, sports or community groups, this can seem like just another task to add to your long list. But mindful moments do not have to be complex or taken in solidarity. Taking a stroll around the neighbourhood with your furry friend, enjoying a glass of wine with loved ones, attempting to 'shop and live local' can all be considered mindful actions. For the month of September until October 15th, we are joining our Engel & Völkers colleagues across the Americas to participate in 60 Minutes for Special Olympics. Last year EV Americas raised a record-breaking $89,736.06 for this worthy organization. This year our goal is an achievable $100,000. Over the next 5 weeks the McGregor Hahne Group will be raising funds and participating in the 60 minutes of movement of choice, whether biking, running, hiking, yoga, rollerblading or activity of choice.
