2025 - Cottage Market Review. |
At this time of year we like to look back at the year that was. While real estate headlines were dominated by doom and gloom, our waterfront market continued to be a strong investment. In fact, less than 1000 sales in our areas added up to over $1.3B. Luxury markets have been pretty resilient. A cottage is a luxury. Waterfront is a luxury.
We did not see a dramatic change in the number of properties that sold and on the surface, median sale prices are also relatively flat. However, when you dig deeper than the median price, we see a general decline in prices in Haliburton and Parry Sound. These areas continue to offer more value at lower price points.
However, in Muskoka, prices have gone up. Especially on our iconic Big 3 - Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph where we see the highest appreciation. You can dive into our analysis here. We're always happy to review specific areas or lakes with you, just ask! |
